Mighty Strong
One of our most popular off-ice player programs is Mighty Strong founded by Dan McCoy. Dan knew the benefits additional physical therapy would bring to the players on the ice and in their daily lives. Shortly after, the collaboration between the Mighty Penguins and the University of Pittsburgh began.
University of Pittsburgh Doctor of Physical Therapy students and Mighty Penguins sled hockey athletes work together during individualized strength and conditioning sessions to maximize each player’s overall performance to benefit players on the ice while striving to meet personal goals.
Mighty Strong promotes the importance of regular exercise for everyone in an inclusive setting. Mighty Strong Physical Therapy students and Mighty Penguins athletes develop friendships and strong working relationships in a fun-filled atmosphere while realizing they too can use state-of-the-art equipment to improve wellness. Sessions are throughout the season and signups are required ahead of time.
